Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
0
InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY AVALANCHE IN FLAWLESS AND WELL CARE FOR CONDITION WITH 2 CRACKS ON THE AIRBAG SIDE AND 2 ON THE DRIVER SIDE ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. I VIEW THIS AS SAFETY RELATED IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH AND DIDN'T WANT THE DASH EXPLODING INTO BITS AND INJURING MY FAMILY. DASH THAT ARE CRACKED IN PLACES AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG CAN BECOME FLYING PROJECTILES IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE PASSENGER OR SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG DEPLOY. A LARGE PERCENT OF THE CRACKS ARE REPORTED TO HAPPEN TO THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE AIRBAG WITH MINE NOW HAVING A PIECE TO BREAK AWAY FALLING IN THE DASH. THIS WAS REPORTED TO GM DIRECTING PERSONS TO THE DEALERSHIP STATING THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO OFFERING NO POSSIBLE OPTION OR ASSISTANCE

I PURCHASED MY 2007 CHEVY AVALANCHEZ71 IN 2012 THE DASH OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DRIVER'S SIDE WAS ALREADY CRACKED, I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT FIXING IT THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR NOT COVERED UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. NOW IT HAS STARTED TO CRACK AROUND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG SEP.2014, I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE WITH OTHER OWNERS OF 07 AVALANCHES,TAHOES,YUKONS AND SUBURBANS AND MANY OF US HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH OUR VEHICLES. CHEVY DOESN'T WANT TO HOLD THE BLAME FOR SHOTTY CRAFTSMANSHIP. WE LOVE OUR TRUCKS AND S.U.V.'S BUT THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM THAT NONE OF US BARGAINED FOR AND SHOULD BE RECTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURE. *TR

THE PROWLER XT 650 H1, IT IS NOT IN YOUR LIST OF VEHICLES, WAS IN NEUTRAL WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. NOBODY WAS IN THE VEHICLE. ALL OF SUDDEN IT TOOK OFF, FAST, WENT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND LUCKILY STOPPED WHEN IT HIT A TREE AT FULL SPEED. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND WE SHUT IT OFF. GOT IT OUT OF THE TREES. THE OWNER GOT ON IT PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT TOOK OFF AGAIN WITH ONLY 3 TIRES AND WAS UNCONTROLLABLE. IT HIT 2 VEHICLES BEFORE THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION. IN RESEARCHING RECALLS FOR ARTIC-CAT, I DID FIND ONE WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM FOR ATVS. OURS IS A PROWLER. *TR
