What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2017 Acura ILX, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I have a recall on my Acura 2017 ILX. I called Bergstrom Acura Appleton in Wisconsin to make an appointment. Ashley said it would take about 2 hours. Trying to get a loaner car out of her was like pulling teeth. A week before service would have taken place, she called back and said that there was a diagnostic fee with the recall. I tried to retrain her about manufacturing problems are the dealership not mine. She would not budge. Don’t know what they are holding over this poor girl to get her to act in such a unprofessional, incompetent, undignified manner.
I have a master cylinder brake recall and I have taken my car to the Acura of Fort Myers dealership and they said they can’t fix the issue because parts are not available. I should receive a second notification from Acura Automobile Division when parts will be available and they won’t be available until spring of 2026 . I need my car to drive around and my concern is my safety driving the car with this recall. Can I buy the parts and have Acura reimburse me the money ? Please let me know , my phone number is [XXX] my name is [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Powertrain (other)
Powertrain reports that are not specifically the engine or transmission — driveshafts, axles, transfer cases and differentials.
From owner reports, verbatim
My 2017 Acura ILX makes a loud clunk, and shifts extremely hard when coming or coasting to a stop. 1-2 gear seems to be the only time this issue arises. This issues creates startling reaction from the driver due to the loud clunk and force of the shift in gears, as well as loss of confidence in the vehicles ability to safely come stop without issues. Reproducing the issue is difficult because the issue usually occurs in traffic in 1-2 gears and test driving it around the block is not sufficient enough to experience hard shift/clunk. I was told it may be the rear differential bushing. Once they checked that, they were able to rule out the possible bushing issue. There are no codes being shown, and no other issues present before or clunk/jamming of the gears. This issue began 4-5 months after purchasing the vehicle from A Honda/Acura Dealer Washington in Dec 2020

I have taken my vehicle into the repair shop several times to conclude that it might be my transmission. After finally taking into the right mechanic, I have found out that it is a fuel pump system issue. I know these are recalled for 2018 but this is something that they also stated 2017 Acura ILX have had issues with as well I’m having to come out of pocket $1300 to get this repair, it has stalled my vehicle. I’m not able to fully press the gas when pulling out in fear that I will not be able to complete the transfer that you guys may want to look into.

Hello, I recently bought this used car. Its a 2017 Acura ILX with fairly low miles ( 85k ). After the 2nd night of having it, the alarm started going off in the middle of the night and all the lights were flickering in the dashboard. The car wouldn't start so I had to jump it in the morning. It did jump and I drove it to the local store for a battery test. The battery was fine. I thought the issue was resolved until it happened again and again. I began to notice a pattern that it was happening when the car wasn't driven for a few days at a time. This means something in the car was constantly drawing power, even when off. After doing some investigation, it seems there is a parasitic draw happening. The following YouTube video shows similar issues on Honda / Acura models: [XXX] , Honda issued a Service Bulletin only for the 2017-2019 Ridegline: [XXX] , but this same Keyless Entry / TPMS module was used in Acura as well. I asked Honda to take a look at this Manufacturing defect, causing corrosion on the module because it wasnt properly coated at the factory. They said I would need to contact the NHTSA. I checked my module and sure enough, it has the same defect that the Acrua MDX has in the video above. One of the chips was not properly coated, allowing corrosion to build up and cause intermittent grounding. Honda knows about this and should have issued a recall for this module . See pictures attached with proof that the coating was not properly applied to one of the chips. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
