2005 Aerolite 30BHSL Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2005 Aerolite 30BHSL, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

2005 AEROLITE TRAILER WAS HIT IN A GAS STATION PULLING THE REAR BUMPER STRAIGHT OUT. DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTIL I GOT HOME. FURTHER INSPECTION FOUND OUT THAT THE COUNTER TOP HAD SPLIT IN HALF AND THAT THE WINDOW IN FRONT OF THE SINK IS LOWER THAN THE SINK. CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE ADJUSTER SAID THAT THE FRAME IS BENT BUT THE INSURANCE COMPANY (NATIONAL INTERSTATE) WILL NOT COVER THE DAMAGE BECAUSE THEY SAY IT'S A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THAT THE ACCIDENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FRAME DAMAGE. TALKED WITH DUTCHMAN AND THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT AND THAT I NEED TO TALK TO NORCO FRAMES. TIM BELLE AT NORCO SAID THE FRAME BENT BECAUSE OF WATER DAMAGE TO THE WALL AND FLOOR. SO FAR NO WATER DAMAGE TO THE FLOOR AND WALLS HAS BEEN FOUND. NORCO HAS RE-FABRICATED THEIR FRAMES TO KEEP THEM FROM TWISTING BUT STILL CLAIM THEY DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE ADJUSTER AND TWO RV MECHANICS NOT TO PULL THE TRAILER BECAUSE IT WILL COME A PART MORE AND THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT THE AXLES WILL COME OFF THE FRAME. *TR

DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DUTCHMEN AEROLITE 30BHSL. THE TRAILER FRAME BENT AND KNOCKED OUT ALL CABINETS AND FLOORING. THE BOX WAS NO LONGER SECURE ON THE TRAILER FRAME AFTER THIS OCCURRED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE TRAILER. THE MANUFACTURER SENT THEIR REPRESENTATIVE, WHO CLAIMED THAT THE CONTACT ,HIT SOMETHING AND THAT WAS WHAT CAUSED THE DAMAGE, THE CONTACT DID NOT HIT ANYTHING OF SIGNIFICANCE, NOTHING OF ANY IMPACT. THIS OCCURRED ON JULY 27, 2005. *AK *JB
