The defect: Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2026 Classic recreational trailers and 2025-2027 Interstate recreational vehicles, equipped with certain MaxxAir N-Series Maxxfan rooftop ventilation fans. The printed circuit board may fail during certain operations and overheat.
The risk: An overheated printed circuit board increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the printed circuit board, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 22, 2026. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning August 21, 2026.

Safety recall

NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
