The defect: Alexis Fire Equipment Company (Alexis Fire) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Pumper, 2024 Rescue, and 2020-2024 Tanker fire trucks built on Spartan chassis. The actuator lever arm in the Spartan cab door latch may bind or become wedged, preventing the door from opening.
The risk: A door that cannot be opened may trap occupants inside the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the door latches as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 7, 2025. Owners may contact Alexis Fire customer service at 1-309-482-6121.

Safety recall

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
