2015 Aprilia Caponord 1200 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

ON JANUARY 26 I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM APRILIA TO "RIDE WITH A VERY MODERATE SPEED TO YOUR AUTHORIZED APRILIA DEALERSHIP" BECAUSE THE "PROBLEM COULD CAUSE THE SPROCKET FASTER TO LOOSEN AND SUBSEQUENTLY LEAD TO THE LOCKING OF THE REAR WHEEL WHILE DRIVING" MY DEALER STILL DOES NOT HAVE ALL THE PARTS (THE LETTER STATES THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE). THEY CAN'T GET APRILIA TO UPDATE THEM ON PARTS AND ASKED ME TO TRY. I HAVE SENT 4 EMAILS AND LEFT 2 VOICE MAILS WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE (212-380-4433) AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT OR RESPONSE OF ANY SORT. I HAVE NOT HAD FULL USE OF THIS BIKE SINCE JANUARY AND THEY APPEAR UNCONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY OR GETTING ME BACK ON THE ROAD. WHAT CAN DO TO GET THEM TO RESPOND AND RESOLVE THEIR SAFETY ISSUE?

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
