2007 Aprilia Tuono Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2007 Aprilia Tuono, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I HAVE PURCHASED A 2007 APILIA TUONO R AND THE REAR BRESK HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY. A DEALER HAS BLED THE BRAKE AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. I WAS TOLD THIS IS AN APRILIA QUIIRK AND TO PURCHASE REARSETS AND THE PROBLEM MAY GO AWAY. *JB

THE REAR BRAKES ARE USELESS.. THE LEVER GOES TO THE BOTTOM AND THE REAR BRAKE BARELY ENGAGES. I'VE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER TO FIX TWICE AND THEY SAY THAT'S JUST THE WAY ITALIAN BIKES ARE. I QUESTIONED THIS ON THE APRIL IA FORUMS AND EVERYONE SEEMS TO AGREE THAT THE REAR BRAKE IS HORRIBLE.. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THE REAR BRAKE IS 25% OF YOUR TOTAL BRAKING ON THIS TYPE OF BIKE AND THE APRILIA BOOK STATES THAT ANY BRAKE ISSUE CAN CAUSE DEATH. *TR
