2014 Audi A6 Problems

The contact owns a 2014 Audi A6. The contact stated that there was a fluid leak underneath the vehicle near the exhaust pipe, with a fuel-like odor. No warning lights were illuminated. A certified mechanic inspected the vehicle at the residence, and determined there was a leak in the fuel line. Following the advice of the mechanic, the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the fuel leak was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000.

I purchased a 2014 Audi A6 2.0T Quattro premium plus on November 15, 2024 with 99,141 miles. I got the 14 day dealership extended warranty, which covered powertrain systems. After 3 days of driving exactly 103 miles the oil light came on my dashboard telling me that the oil was low. I immediately brought it back to the dealership and their mechanic look at it, he said there was nothing wrong and changed the oil so it should be good now. I drove it another 3 days 136 miles this time, and the oil light came on once again. Brought it back a 2nd time to the dealership’s mechanic. After about a week, we heard back and they told us he still couldn’t find anything wrong, but agreed that for some reason, the engine is consuming oil more than it should be. At this point we go to an actual Audi dealership where they tell us that the pistons and turbo were the problem so they would have to rip apart the engine and seal everything back up. At the time we purchased the vehicle on top of the 14 day dealership warranty we also purchased an extended warranty by a company called integrity warranty LLC. Our warranty company decided that they were not going to cover the cost of the parts and labor in order to fix my Audi, because they said it was a pre-existing issue prior to us purchasing the vehicle which we had not heard of before, or even seen on the Carfax report. On February 25 I was driving at night 25 mph and I came to a red light stopped my car and began smelling a very strange smell. Saw a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust in the back, the dashboard lights began flickering, the steering wheel start to shake, and then the car just shut down. Now I am without a vehicle, the dealership will not help us, the warranty company will not help us, and I now have to purchase a new car while still making payments on the Audi that doesn’t work.

The electronic steering system on my Audi A6 failed without warning, locking my steering wheel in place. A review of on line message boards for Audi owners indicates this is a systemic problem, and has, for some owners, actually locked their steering while driving. This did not happen to me, but prior to locking, my car instantly transitioned from steering with no issues to almost becoming undrivable before I could get to a repair shop.

Audi sent a notice in June 2021 regarding the issuance of a limited extended warranty coverage for Electromechanical Steering Unit for certain 2011-2016 model year A4, A4 Allroad, A5, S5, RS5, Q5, SQ5, A6, S6, A7, RS7, A8, and S8 vehicles. The letter stated that "Audi has determined that it is possible for the Electromechanical steering unit to malfunction in some vehicles, causing the electromechanical steering warning lamp in the instrument cluster to illuminate due to the presence of specific fault codes resulting from this malfunction." The letter provided consumers with repairs under warranty, but was unclear about requiring the repairs to be completed at an Audi authorized facility. The letter implies that the issue is the illumination of the warning lamp on the instrument panel, but fails to warn consumers of the actual impact to the usability of the vehicle when the fault is triggered. I experienced first hand that the illumination of the light renders the car inoperable as the power steering mechanism no longer works and the vehicle is nearly impossible to steer and control. The warning also directs the driver to drive to the nearest Audi repair center, which is not feasible given the difficulties to steer. The nearest facility was also 15 miles away. After attempting to drive home, the instrument panel warned me to stop driving the car. In less than 1/2 mile the instruction on the panel went from drive to nearest facility to stop driving. The warning for this fault and subsequent loss of steering happens instantaneously. The driver is unable to do much, but to safely pull over into an area that the car can be towed from. Moreover, I repaired the vehicle at a local dealership and Audi refuses to reimburse me as their forms lead me to believe it would be. Audi should have issued a recall to correct a problem that they were aware poses a significant safety concern instead of extended warranty with stipulations carved out. Please help me make this right.

Facts: 1. My vehicle has an open safety recall that remains unrepaired, despite being serviced at Audi dealerships by prior owners. 2. The recall was never disclosed to me by the selling dealer, Roland Holmes Auto Sales, nor by the financing entity, Credit Acceptance Corporation. 3. The unrepaired defect presents a serious safety hazard to myself, my family, and the public. 4. The manufacturer, Audi USA, has failed to complete the required recall work. I request that NHTSA investigate this matter, enforce compliance upon Audi USA, and take appropriate action against the dealer for failure to disclose the recall. ON 12/3/19 OUR CAR WAS TAKEN TO A CERTIFIED AUDI DEALER FOR HAVING THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON INDICATING A SAFETY ISSUE. THE AUDI TECH #293N FOUND THE PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION CONTROL MODULE FAULTY AND OFFERED TO REPLACE THIS PART FOR $1,172.60. THERE IS A RECALL FOR A6 MODEL YEARS, HOWEVER OUR CAR IS NOT INCLUDED, YET OUR PODS CONTROL MODULE HAS FAILED. WE HAVE SPOKEN WITH AUDI SUPPORT AND WAS TOLD CLEARLY THAT OUR VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND THE CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR A 2014. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF OUR FRONT SEAT PASSENGER IN OUR AUDI A 6 AND HAVE BEEN TOLD BY CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT THIS CAN CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY WHEN IN A COLLISION. On XXX my 2014 Audi A6 failed to accelerate on a parkway. An EPC light appeared. I restarted. It reappeared and car was slow and shaky. I took right to nearest Audi dealership. The next day, they sent this video, admitting a common problem, and suggesting full engine replacement. [XXX] I have contacted Audi of America, Audi of Huntington and Audi of Manhattan. All refusing to help with our faulty engine. Further investigation shows so many cases on Audizone, North Anerican Audi Owners groups. Why was this not a recall? I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding persistent mechanical failures and safety concerns with my 2014 Audi A6, VIN: [XXX] , which have resulted in significant repair expenses, inconvenience, and potential safety hazards. Despite having the front brakes and sensors replaced in the previous year, I recently experienced brake warning lights and related malfunctions. According to the most recent service report from Audi Bethesda (Repair Order [XXX], dated May 9, 2025), it was discovered that the incorrect brake pad sensor had previously been installed and that connectors were not properly secured. Additionally, the repair team found further issues with the ABS sensor and rear brake pad sensors—indicating an ongoing pattern of misdiagnosis and improper installation by authorized service providers. More concerning is the failure of the vehicle’s fuel system, including the fuel pump and filter, which were replaced at considerable expense. According to the repair documentation, there were still unresolved low fuel pressure faults present even after parts replacement. The technicians cited potential metal contamination in the fuel meter valve (N290), which could require full fuel system replacement—an unacceptable situation for a vehicle that has already undergone such costly repairs. ALL FOUR BRAKES ROTORS WERE WARPED AT 37K AND HAD THEM REPLACED. NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THE FRONT ONES ARE WARPED AGAIN AFTER 12K MILES. CAR VIBRATES WHEN YOU BRAKE.

GOOD AFTERNOON, FIRST I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO RECALL THE NUMBER OF CASES WHERE POLICE OFFICERS WERE GETTING CANCEROUS TUMORS IN THEIR NECKS DUE TO THE RADAR UNITS BEING MOUNTED ON THE BACK OR FRONT DASH BOARD BACK IN THE LATE 1970'S AND EARLY 1980'S. ALSO THE NUMBER OF INCIDENTS WHERE THE POLICE OFFICERS WERE GETTING TESTICULAR CANCER FROM PUTTING THE RADAR GUNS BETWEEN THEIR LEGS WHEN THEY WERE NOT USING THEM. I HAVE A RADAR WAVE DETECTION DEVICE IN MY AUTOMOBILE. WHEN I AM NEAR A LATE MODEL AUDI [ UP TO 1/8 OF A MILE] , MY DETECTION DEVICE ALERTS ME THAT A "K" BAND RADAR WAVE IS DETECTED.. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 AUDI A6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DUE TO A VOID ON THE FLOORBOARD, HER SHOE HEELS PIERCED THROUGH THE MAT AND ONTO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE ORIGINAL MAT WITH A RUBBER MAT, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUDI ANNAPOLIS (1833 WEST STREET, ANNAPOLIS, MD 21401) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN OFFERED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN TO RE-CARPET THE FLOOR AT HALF PRICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SUPPORTED THE DEALER'S RECOMMENDATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE RAMP TOWARDS THE HIGHWAY TO ENTER ONTO TOLL ROAD 73 WHEN MY SUNROOF JUST EXPLODED. I WAS NOT DRIVING UNDER ANYTHING SO NOTHING DROPPED FROM THE AIR. The vehicle defrost system stopped working due to the aluminum heater core getting clogged. The Audi maintenance does not have an interval for flushing the system on a regular basis. The vehicle only has 58,000 miles and the the failed/clogged heater core is preventing the defrost and defogging of the windshield making visibility dangerous in cold weather and sunlight.

RECALL WAS SENT 2018 WHILE SERVICE MEMBER WAS IN EUROPE AND EUROPE DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR RECALL THEY SAID ONLY IN US IS IT A RECALL.

ON MY 2014 AUDI A6 AT 2300 MILES THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAS A BUBBLE. THE MANUFACTURE OF THE TIRE WAS NOTIFIED AND EXCHANGE THE TIRE, NOW AT 6300 MILES ANOTHER TIRE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM . *TR

I have recently purchased my 2014 Audi A6 in Honolulu at JN Autogroup. After just a couple days of driving the vehicle I have noticed that the car started to smell like gas in and out of the vehicle. The smell is very potent and very sensible throughout every second of driving and I am reporting this because this could be very hazardous and I may not know if it could catch on fire with the amount of fumes that is lingering around. To the point where as I am driving it is making me dizzy. I have researched about issues for these cars with the same year, make and model and I have read that there was a recall on the fuel line leak but i don’t know why my car wasn’t included in this recall base of the data I have pulled up on the Audi recall center. I’m not sure if it has been recalled but the problem for sure wasn’t solved with my vehicle. On the other hand, I have also noticed that the reverse camera on this vehicle goes for a split second on the dash whenever in reverse then suddenly blacks out the entire screen. I am thinking that the wiring or some kind of harness that operates the reverse camera is not done properly by the factory that causes malfunctions within the system. In conclusion, these are two of the reasons why I am completing this incident report because I feel that these are two hazardous features that is important for not just myself but the community and people that surrounds me whenever I am on the road behind the wheel. It is important for this to be resolved because the company of this vehicle advertises all these features and sells this product but there is an issue with the product and I want it to be looked upon and not swept under the rug because I am not only speaking for myself but for the many thousands and thousands of these car owners that is on the road today who are having the same issue as I do.
