1994 Audi Cabriolet Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE ORIGINAL IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED IN 1997 UNDER NHTSA RECALL 96V017000 BY A DEALER IN WISCONSIN, BEHM MOTORS, APPLETON, WI. THERE WAS NO APPARENT PROBLEM WITH THE ORIGINAL IGNITION SWITCH, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THE LOW MILAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE REPLACED SWITCH IS NOW MALFUNCTIONING EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL BULLETIN. ALSO, THE 1997 AUDI A4 WAS SUBJECT TO NHTSA RECALL #00V31700 FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE 1994 AUDI SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO ANOTHER RECALL. THE DEALER ESTMATED COST OF THIS REPAIR IS $186. A. *AK
