1996 Beaver Patriot Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1996 Beaver Patriot, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

1. ACCORDING TO THE REPAIR FACILITY, THE FRAME FAILURE WAS THE RESULT OF THE FRAME BEING UNDER ENGINEERED. 2. THIS FRAME FAILURE WILL OCCUR ONLY ONCE AND FOLLOWING IS A QUOTE FROM THE SHOP FOREMAN THAT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS: "THIS IS SERIOUS ISSUE. IF THE FRAME HAD FAILED COMPLETELY, ESPECIALLY ON A TURN OR A GRADE, THE AXLE WOULD HAVE COME LOOSE FROM THE FRAME, WITH CATASTROPHIC AND/OR LIFE THREATENING RESULTS. IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE RV'S, I RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHECK IT OUT, OR HAVE IT CHECKED OUT." I HAVE A NAME OF ANOTHER PERSON, RICHARD T. AMES, WHO HAD THE SAME FAILURE. THERE ARE OTHER SAFETY ISSUES WITH THIS FRAME AND I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SEND YOU PICTURES AS SUPPORTING EVIDENCE. 3. THE CRACKS IN THE FRAME WERE REPAIRED AND A 3/8" PLATE WAS WELDED BETWEEN THE UPPER AND LOWER FRAME TO REINFORCE THE AREA.*TR
