The defect: ON CERTAIN TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH IMT AXLES, DUE TO IMPROPER MATERIAL USED ON THE AXLE SPINDLE, THE SPINDLE CAN BEND OR BREAK.
The risk: A BROKEN SPINDLE CAN ALLOW THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM THE TRAILER, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE AXLE AFTER TESTING,IF NECESSARY. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BEDARD TANKERS AT 514-937-1670.
