2005 Bigdog Mastiff Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

SEVERAL EVENTS HAVE BEEN LISTED AND SUBMITTED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED MANY TIMES TO FIX THE PROBLEM, WITH NO SUCCESS. THE DEALER SENT THE MOTORCYCLE TO THE HEADQUARTERS IN ANOTHER CITY, STILL UNABLE TO KEEP THE BIKE FROM POURING OIL OUT AT HIGH SPEEDS. THIS IS GETTING OIL ON THE REAR TIRE, REAR WHEEL AND REAR BRAKE. IT HAS SINCE BEEN DISCOVERED THAT THE DEALER THAT SOLD THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT AN AUTHORIZED LOCATION, NOR WAS THEIR MECHANIC. BUT THEIR MAIN STORE IS AUTHORIZED. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO ASK FOR LEGAL HELP. BIG DOG HAS IGNORED MY PLEAS FOR HELP, AS HAS V TWIN CITY, THE DEALER. *JB

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
