2011 BMW K1300 S

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, AN ABNORMAL SMELL WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT OF MOTORCYCLE. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TAKEN TO GATEWAY BMW MOTORCYCLES LOCATED AT 2690 MASTERSON AVE SUITE 300, ST. LOUIS, MO 63114, WHERE THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 16,168.

The electrical system of BMW vehicles has been subject to an ongoing development process over the last few years. This has led to increased demands being placed on the battery. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle “discharged battery” complaints.

BMW Motorrad USA has become aware of a potential durability issue with the film type fuel level sender “Fuel Strip” equipped on certain model year 2005 to 2013 R and K series motorcycles.

One of the following situations can occur when connecting to BN2000 motorcycles: 1. The installed control units cannot be found when reading out with ISTA. 2. Control units initially communicate after connecting to the vehicle, but communication later stops.

Despite retrofitting and enabling the HP Race Calibration Kit 3, it is not possible to read out and adjust the data with the laptop Race calibration software. If the HP Race Calibration Kit 3 is retrofitted individually to in K46/13, where the data cannot be read and adjusted in the laptop computer, it is necessary to retrofit and enable the HP Race Power Kit.
