The daytime running lights (DRL) LED module overheated due to poor thermal design burning the connection point and turning the"angel eyes" amber, yellow. When the LED module overheats, it chars and browns the leading edge of the internal fiber optic light tube which permanently alters the refracted light color from crisp white to amber/brown.BMW has released a Technical Service Bulletin acknowledging this dimming/discolorization "flaw". BMW reuses to cover this out of warranty because they claim a Technical Service Bulletin is not a recall ergo a safety issue.BMW claims this is a cosmetic or minor component failure, not a safety issue. This LED module eventually burns out completely and the DRL will go dark. This reduces the vehicle's visibility to oncoming traffic during the day creating a safety hazard. My contention is that this warrants a vehicle recall since DRL are mandated in all vehicles to improve a vehicle 's visibility. Thank you
