Data refreshed
Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows
Our database holds 8 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 1996 Bounder Motorhome. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. THE AUTOMATIC PARK SYSTEM WENT OUT ON MY GENERAL MOTORS P30 MOTORHOME CHASSIS ON A CAMPING TRIP - LEAVING ME WITH NO "PARK" IN MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND NO EMERGENCY BRAKE. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS, AS I HAD NO WAY TO KEEP THE MOTORHOME FROM MOVING AT ANYTIME I TRIED TO STOP AND PARK, SUCH AS STOPPING AT A RESTARUANT, STOPPING TO SIGHTSEE, OR STOPPING TO CAMP. IN OVER FORTY YEARS OF DRIVING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES, THIS IS THE FIRST CASE WHERE, EVEN THOUGH I PUT THE TRANSMISSION LEVER IN THE "PARK" POSITION, MY VEHICLE START ROLLING AS SOON AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PETAL (AND, YES, I HAD DEPRESSED MY EMERGENCY BRAKE PETAL TO THE FLOOR AS WELL.*AK

I HAVE A 1996 FLEETWOOD BOUNDER MOTORHOME (MH). THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WHICH IS DUAL PANE LOST THE SEAL AND HAD MOISTURE BETWEEN THE PANES. IT HAS SINCE TURNED TO A HARD WHITE SUBSTANCE WHICH COVERS THE ENTIRE GLASS AND MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANY SIDE VISION. THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS THE LIQUID MOISTURE BETWEEN THE PANES JUST LIKE STARTED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. ALSO ONE OF THE SIDE WINDOWS IS DOING THE SAME THING. IT IS SUCH A SAFETY HAZARD I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE MH. OTHER RV OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM, BUT I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY AS BAD AS MINE, AND FLEETWOOD HAS SAID THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS. *LA

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
