2025 Buick Envision Owner Complaints

At 1,578 miles, my 2025 Buick Envision would not start in my garage and had to be towed to the dealer. The check-engine light was on. The dealer tore down the engine and found a spun No. 1 main bearing. GM replaced the complete engine under warranty. The vehicle remained at the dealership from November 10, 2025, through January 6, 2026, totaling 57 days. A similar engine failure while driving could cause an unexpected loss of power. I do not have the failed engine; its current location is unknown.

Vehicle would not start, took a jump, all warning lights came on. I started to drive the car and all lights starting blinking. After shutting down, the vehicle again did not start. Towed it to dealer, been there for a week now, many modules had to be replaced including the Three times they said it's fixed, three times they called back to say it's not.

On XXX we were in the acceleration lane on XXX, merging onto the highway. When we engaged the cruise control the car rapidly accelerated up to 97 mph. We were unable to get car to slow down, or disengage the cruise for approximately 1 minute. The care ran for 97 mph for the minute or so this happened. Husband was driving and he did all we knew to do to disengage the cruise and get the car slowed down. After approximately 1 minute the car started to slow down. We immediately took the car to Kelly Chevrolet in [XXX]. We were told that General Motors usually doesn't do anything to help the consumer unless there have been 4 reported cases. (This happened one other time about 2 weeks prior, but we thought it was a fluke and didn't report it.) We had this car for 1 1/2 years with 22,000 miles. The warranty would repair, but I refused to drive it again, under the circumstances. We have since traded the car ini on another car as we couldn't drive it. I was driving ~72 MPH on the interstate and my car suddenly downshifted and the dash read “Speed limited to 62 MPH”. I took the nearest off ramp and the brakes completely failed. The dash initially read “service transmission” and “service breaks”. After restarting the Buick Envision, the MyBuick App diagnostics stated “service breaks” only. The car was towed to the dealership this date. I have not heard from them on what has caused the brake failure yet.

On [XXX], I started the car. Very loud, cracking noise came from radio. Turned off radio, noise stopped. When I used turn signal, noise came from turn lever. Turned off signal, noise stopped. Put car in park and pushed ignition button to turn off. Noise came thru ignition button. Later restarted the car, noise was gone. Concerned there is a power surge going thru system. Saw same problem for others online at [XXX] . Stated there that replacing amplifier corrects problem. Both dealer and corporate Buick are aware of problem. However, both are refusing to replace part, as car isn't making noise currently. One person on the forum stated he was unable to turn car off when problem occurred on his car. While driving the dash and radio randomly turn off. Sometimes staying black for minutes others until you stop the car and walk away for several minutes. Leaving you without a way to tell how fast you are going, or any other safety information, fuel level or more.

While driving for approximately 2 1/2 hours with cruise set at 78. I did need to brake on occasion and then resume speed. For no apparent reason the car suddenly braked. Speed dropped to about 50 and then immediately resumed speed. No one was hurt. Things in the back seat pushed forward. I don’t know if it has anything to do with that incident but from them until I returned home, about 1 hour later my windows were fogging, I turned on the defrost about 3 times.

The contact owns a 2025 Buick Envision. The contact stated that upon picking up the vehicle from the dealer a day after purchasing the vehicle, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The dealer replaced the battery; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was determined that the failure was a parasitic battery drain. The contact was informed that the dealer was unable to verify what was the cause of the parasitic battery drain. The contact was informed that the engineer might need to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had been taken back to the dealer several times because of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 2,700.

On 12/18/2025 at approximately 5:00 pm, during rush hour traffic, while driving 60 mph on the expressway, my car automatically downshifted to drive1, the engine revved up significantly and the car reduced power and had sluggish acceleration. It did not come out of Drive 1 until I was able to get off the expressway and put the car in park. The car is available for inspection upon request. I was panicking in heavy traffic and cars were honking at me as I could not speed up. I took my car to the dealer but he could not reproduce the exact problem. The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance or representatives. There were not any warnings or messages prior to the symptoms. This is the second time this has happened within the eight months that I have leased the car.
