1994 Buick Park Avenue Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1994 Buick Park Avenue, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO OUR 1994 BUICK PARK AVE. ULTRA STARTED TO HAVE THE PAINT (WHITE)PEEL OFF. IT HAS PROGRESSED TO THE POINT WHERE THERE IS VERY LITTLE PAINT LEFT ON THE HOOD OR TRUNK AND ONLY ABOUT HALF LEFT ON THE TOP OF THE CAR. I HAVE TALKED TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS ABOUT THIS AND BOTH HAVE SAID THAT GM IS AWARE OF SOME PAINT PROBLEMS WITH THESE CARS BUT THAT UNLESS IT STARTED TO PEEL WITHIN THE FIRST THREE YEARS THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT. I DON'T THINK IT IS UNREASONABLE FOR AN OWNER OF BUICK'S TOP OF THE LINE CAR TO EXPECT THAT THE PAINT JOB IS GOING TO STAY ON THE CAR FOR LONGER THAN 8 YEARS. I WAS AT FIRST TOLD THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS ONLY WITH BUICK'S WHITE PAINT BUT I HAVE SEEN SOME OTHER BUICKS SINCE THEN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND NOT ALL ARE WHITE. *JB
