What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2010 Cadillac Cts-V, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.

From owner reports, verbatim
I WAS COMING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY, WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY .3 MILE, AT ABOUT 10 MPH AROUND A SMALL CURVE WHEN ALL FOUR SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THE VEHICLE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO CADILLAC AND NOW GM IS STATING THAT I WAS DRIVING IN EXCESS SPEED OF 50 MPH AND THE CAR WAS DRIVING ERRATICALLY. THIS IS TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO COMING OUT OF THE DRIVE AROUND THE CORNER WHERE THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM AND IF I WAS DRIVING ON THE MAIN ROAD COULD HAVE POSSIBLY CAUSED ME SERIOUS HARM AND ACCIDENTS TO OTHERS. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR PROBLEMS I'VE HAD WITH THE VEHICLE TO GIVE ME ANY SIGN THAT THIS DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS WOULD HAPPEN. THIS IS A GM MANUFACTURING PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED BY GM AND CADILLAC. THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT I NEED TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY WHICH I HAVE DONE AND THEY NOW HAVE INVESTIGATORS LOOKING INTO THIS INCIDENT. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO OTHER VEHICLES AND TAKE LIVES.
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
