1994 Cadillac Eldorado Engine Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the engine system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Engine reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE HEADS ARE ALUMINIUM THE BOLTS ATTACHING THEM ARE STAINLESS STEEL THE BOLTS CAUSED THE THREADS OF THE HEAD TO STRIP AS THE TWO MATERIALS ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY ON YEARS BUT WOULD HAVE FALLEN WITHIN THE MILEAGE WARRANTY, AND I FEEL THAT THIS IS A FAILURE WITHIN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE CAR. THE FAILURES WOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF UNDER WARRANTY IF TIME WERE NOT A FACTOR. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM IF THE OIL HAD OVERHEATED AND CAUGHT FIRE. *AK
