TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CADILLAC ELDORADO. WHILE PARKED THE TRACTION CONTROL, BRAKE SERVICE AND STEERING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THE ABS MODULE NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED WHO BOTH TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THE PART WAS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS PLACED ON WAITING LIST FOR THE PART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000. UPDATED 02/18/11 *BF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CADILLAC ELDORADO. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL MADE CONTACT WITH THE FLOORBOARD. THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES AT 9,000, 23,000 AND 33,000 MILES. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT DUE TO RUST AND WHAT THEY WERE MADE OFF THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK UPDATED 04/12/07. *JB

Driver assistance

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CADILLAC ELDORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STABILIZATION ENGAGE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED HER BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CADILLAC ELDORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CADILLAC ELDORADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 20-30 MPH THE "CHECK ENGINE COOLANT" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE HEAD GASKET AT AN EXPENSE OF $3,000.00. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 113,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

2001 ELDORADO ETC SEAT BACK RECLINED WHILE DRIVING.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR *JB
1ST TIME---INTERIOR LIGHTS FAILED TO COME ON. 2ND TIME---SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. CAR FILLED WITH SMOKE. ODOR BAD ENOUGH TO MAKE ME UPCHUCK--CHECKED UNDER HOOD, TRUNK, EMERGENCY BRAKE, INSIDE TOP OF CAR---NOTHING. DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.

IGNITION SWITCH CYLINDER WIRES THAT DISABLE STARTER BREAK AND CAR WILL NOT START . THE DEALER SAID THIS HAPPENS ON ALMOST EVERY 2001 CADILAC EQUIPPED WITH THE RESISTANCE CHIP ON THE KEY. THE MESSAGE SAYS WAIT 3 MINUTE AND RESTART THE CAR. THE 2001 CADILLAC ELDORADO ESC ONLY HAS 44,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DO SO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. THE TECHNICIAN HAD TO REPLACE THE SENSOR A AND B AS THE SENSOR WAS LOOSING IT'S SIGNAL. *SC

I PURCHASED 4 NEW GOODYEAR ASSURANCE COMFORT TREAD TIRES ON 10/01/2008. ON 12/02/2008 I HAD A BLOW-OUT TO THE SIDE WALL (OUTER) OF THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER TIRE. I WAS TRAVELING 30MPH. I HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE TIRES.(CLAUDE NOLAN CADILLAC). I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER TO MAINTAIN THE OLD TIRE FOR POSSIBLE INSPECTION. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CADILLAC ELDORADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
