Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS, THE ENGINE HAS DIED WHEN THERE IS LESS THAN 5 GAL. OF GAS IN THE TANK AND I'M DRIVING DOWNHILL. THE CAR DIES AT THE BOTTOM. I SHIFT INTO PARK AND THE CAR STARTS RIGHT UP. I'VE ASK TWO DEALERSHIPS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN AND DON'T WANT TO START REPLACING PARTS UNTIL THEY ARE SURE WHAT IS CAUSING IT. THE RESULT OF THIS IS THAT IT HASN'T BEEN FIXED AND I JUST GAVE UP. HAVE YOU HAD ANY REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING AND IF SO, WHAT IS THE SOLUTION. I DON'T MIND HAVING IT FIXED BUT IT IS HARD TO PIN DOWN. IT CAN CREATE A PROBLEM WHEN THE ENGINE DIES AND YOU LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES.*AK
