The defect: Campagna Motors (Campagna) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 T-Rex 16S motorcycles manufactured June 3, 2013 to October 30, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the steering column could be incorrectly connected to the steering rack allowing the steering column to disconnect from the steering rack.
The risk: If the steering column disconnects from the steering rack, the driver would lose the ability to steer the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Campagna will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the steering column to steering rack assembly, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on April 1, 2016. Owners may contact Campagna customer service at 1-888-641-2112 extension 222.

Safety recall
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
