2000 Carriage Carri-Lite Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

ON JULY 6TH, I PURCHASED A 36FT 2000 5TH WHEEL TRAILER. ON JULY 10TH, THE TRAILER HAS FINISHED ITS VIGOROUS INSPECTION AND IS READY FOR THE ROAD. I MADE IT AS FAR AS THE FLORIDA/GEORGIA LINE AND ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES BLEW DUE TO DRY-ROT. ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES WERE DATED 1999. THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF TRAILER WAS RIPPED OUT. MY FORD F-350 HAS HAD TO HAVE THE ENTIRE REAR-END FIXED & 6 NEW TIRES FOR MY DULLY TRUCK HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. THE 5TH WHEEL HAD TO SIT AT A TRUCK STOP UNTIL THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TIRES & TOWED THE TRAILER BACK TO THEM. FOR THE DAMAGE THAT RESULTED UNDER THE TRAILER, I HAD TO PUT A CLAIM ON MY INSURANCE. EARLY OCTOBER THE TRAILER HAS FINISHED ITS REPAIRS. I WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO WITNESS THE TRAILER WORKED AND THE TIRES WERE LEFT UNDER MY 5TH WHEEL IN THE STORAGE DEPARTMENT. THE TRAILER WAS AGAIN, NOT FIXED DUE TO WIRES UNDERNEATH FOR A/C NEVER WERE REPLACED AFTER THE BLOW-OUT. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT TO PICKUP THE TRAILER, I TRIED RETRIEVING THE TIRES WHICH HAVE NOW BEEN REPLACED BY 3 NEW TIRES IN THE STORAGE DEPARTMENT. I AM LEFT WITH MY MANY PERSONAL PICTURES OF ALL THE DAMAGE AND THE TIRES THAT BLEW ON THE TRAILER THAT DAY. *JB

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
