The defect: WELD WHICH ATTACHES THE SUPPORT BRACKET TO THE REAR AXLE OF THE REAR SUSPENSION COULD CRACK AND BREAK.
The risk: THIS WOULD ALLOW THE HANGER TO BREAK OFF, POSSIBLYCAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
The remedy: INSTALL A REINFORCEMENT KIT TO PREVENT HANGER FROM BREAKING OFF.

The defect: UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS THE PLASTIC FAN FOR THE UNDER FLOOR HEATER COULD CATCH ON FIRE DUE TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE LOW SPEED RESISTOR WHICH GENERATES ENOUGH HEAT TO IGNITE THE FAN. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THIS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.
The remedy: REMOVE THE IN LINE RESISTOR AND INSTALL TWO TERMINATING WIRE END CONNECTORS TO ELIMINATE THE POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD.

The defect: BATTERY CABLES MAY RUB AGAINST BRACKETS OR OTHER METAL COMPONENTS CAUSING THE POSSIBILITY OF ELECTRICAL SHORTS. THIS MAY BE DUE TO MISSING TIE-DOWN CLAMPS, INCORRECT ROUTING OF BATTERY CABLES, OR LACK OF PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE.
The remedy: ALL DAMAGED OR WORN CABLES WILL BE REPLACED, CABLE ROUTING WILL BE CORRECTED AND CABLES WILL BE COVERED WITH FLEXGUARD TO PREVENT WEAR.

Safety investigation
NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
