The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Cargo Mate Cargo Trailers and Continental Cargo Trailers. The safety chains do not meet the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and could potentially break.
The risk: Safety chain breakage can cause the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the safety chains, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-254-420-0171. Forest River's number for this recall is 700-1530.

The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Continental and Cargo Mate Cargo trailers. The coupler was improperly welded, which may cause the trailer to separate from the tow vehicle.
The risk: Trailer separation from the tow vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the coupler, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 23, 2021. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-254-420-0171. Forest River's number for this recall is 700-1438.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2021 CONTINENTAL CARGO TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE AT A STANDSTILL RIGHT AND LEFT TIRE WAS LOW (ONLY 2 TIRES ON THE SINGLE AXEL). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING FENDER BOLTS AND TIRES TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 0. CONSUMER STATED ALL 4 TIRES WERE PURCHASED ON 2019 AND DISCONTINUED ON 2020 PEPBOYS CASE NUMBER [XXX], INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).”
