What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2003 Cosco 22-260, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

MY CHILD HAS A BOOSTER SEAT MADE BY COSCO. WE WERE RIDING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND SHE PULLED THE COVER OVER AND FOUND A HOLE OIN THE PLASTIC THAT HER FINGER FIT PERFECTLY! WE SPENT AN HOUR AND HALF AT A REST STOP ATTEMPTING TO GET HER FINGER OUT OF THIS HOLE. THIS ORDEAL ENDED WHEN FIREMEN AND POLICE OFFICERS FROM THE LANDRUM, SC AREA HAD TO CUT THE BOOSTER SEAT TO GET HER FINGER OUT! POLICE OFFICER SAID THAT I SHOULD MOST DEFINATELY MAKE A COMPLAINT!!! I COULD NOT FIND THE RIGHT MODEL NO. ON YOUR SITE...IT IS ACTUALLY NO. 22-293 BVL COSCO BOOSTER SEAT THAT WAS BOUGHT AT WAL-MART....THE MANUFACTURE DATE IS 06/12/08. *TR
I PURCHASED A CAR SEAT FROM THE DOREL JUVENILE GROUP. THE CROUCH BUCKLE IS ADJUSTABLE. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CROUCH BUCKLE COMPLETELY OUT OF THE SEAT WHILE STRAPPING MY DAUGHTER INTO IT. I CALLED THE COMPANY TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. THE CSR SPOKE WITH HER SUPERVISOR AND SHE RECOMMENDED THAT I MAINTAIN TENSION ON THE BUCKLE AND THAT IS PROBABLY WHY IT KEPT COMING OUT AND THE I "SHOULD GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY." I TOLD THEM THAT THE SAFETY OF MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT UP FOR "ANOTHER TRY". WITH MUCH PERSUASION, THEY OFFERED TO REFUND MY MONEY AFTER I SENT THEM PROOF OF DESTRUCTION. I RETURNED THE SEAT TO THE STORE I PURCHASED IT AT. BUT I FEEL THAT THE SEAT IS NOT SAFE THE WAY IT IS MADE RIGHT NOW. *NM
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
