2006 Desert Fox Toy Hauler Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

BOUGHT FOUR (4) POWER KING TOW MAX STR ST 235/80R16 TRAILER TIRES. ALL FOUR HAVE FAILED AND BEEN REPLACED. FIRST FAILURE, TIRE EXPLODED, CAUSED TRAILER DAMAGE. SECOND FAILURE, TIRE WENT FLAT, DURING REPAIR DISCOVERED CATASTROPHIC INTERNAL FAILURE. THIRD FAILURE, VISUAL INSPECTION, TIRE SEPARATING. FORTH FAILURE, TIRE EXPLODED, CAUSED TRAILER DAMAGED. BOTH EXPLOSIVE TIRE FAILURE OCCURRED AT 65 MPH, 2000 TO 3000 MILES ON TIRE. TRAILER IS A TOY HAULER, WEIGHED AT 11340 LBS LOADED. TIRES ARE MONITORED BY TPMS, PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE, NO ABNORMAL WARNINGS BEFORE TIRE EXPLOSIONS. TPMS DID ALERT TO SECOND TIRE FAILURE, FLAT. SEARCH THE INTERNET FOR TOY HAULER TIRE FAILURES, MORE POWER KING CATASTROPHIC TIRES FAILURES CAUSING HUGE AMOUNTS OF DAMAGE TO THE TRAILERS. I DO NOT ANY DOT INFORMATION FOR THE FOUR TIRES THAT FAILED, JUST THE REPLACEMENT TIRES.
