My 2006 Dodge Charger R/T HEMI 5.7 has experienced multiple breakdowns in my transmission. Come to find out it is actually a Mercedes Benz transmission. Replaced multiple times after getting towed multiple times for transmission going out. Totally unacceptable.
On 3/10/2023 my vehicle suddenly starting trembling and shaking profusely! It terrified me severely. I immediately called my mechanic and it was towed in to be repaired. I was told it needed a tune- up. Towing, 3-Direct Ignition coils replaced, 6-spark plugs replaced and 1- fuel injection plenum gasket set replaced. Four weeks later on 4/16/2023 a warning sign of a backwards meeting parenthesis with a lightening bolt between to the two backwards parenthesis showed up on my warning lamp-Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Indicator symbol; causing my vehicle on shake, jump and stall as I was driving on 29S heading toward 70W towards Baltimore to get home. I was able to drive to side of the road and my car completely stopped. A the horrific sounds of the traffic wizzed by me and my 12 year old child, I immediately called AAA, as we were in danger and severely terrified. We were finally picked up after 3 long hours!!!!! My car was the towed up the street from my home because the huge tow truck was unable to get directly in front of my door at that late hour. As I called AAA back the next morning to have my car towed to my mechanic shop, I was told I could only get 1 tow/ breakdown. I was totally in disbelieve after all we endured the evening/ night before. After explaining to a supervisor at AAA, she agreed that we had such a horrible experience the night before and adjusted the policy to accommodate my vehicle to be towed to my mechanic for repairs. This time, my fuel pump needed to be replaced and it has been. My vehicle still feels hesitate in its acceleration and as of today my engine light is on on my warning panel. I have been contacted by a NHTS recall team agent and have been scheduled for an appt
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, he was unable to shift the gear shifter out of park(P). The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with Customer Satisfaction Number: K39. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
My Dodge charger has 4 codes I can't figure out and one is a is a manufacturer code that popped up and lost connection to tcm and something to do with the fuel
PCM/ECM failure during driving. Caused entire vehicle to shut off during speeds as little as 20 or as high as 70 mph. Severe safety issue and potential for critical component damage to other parts of the vehicle! Warning tone and lamps do not appear until after the incident happens. And it has been confirmed by 3 consecutive car shops and dealers. Happens repeatedly, day to day.
I've owned this car a little over a month. I filled up the gas tank today, after leaving the gas station the car stalled in the middle of a busy intersection. thankfully no one was coming the opposite direction at the time before i could get the car restarted. at the next light it stalled again, and then was able to restart the car. i was able to pull into a parking lot to access any issues. nothing looked wrong visibly. while idling the car stalled again. i researched the issue and found other similar issues with this year and make of the car stalling after filling the tank. this is a huge safety issue as there was no warning and the car completely stalled and had no function. if cars were coming at me in the intersection or i was on the highway which was the next exit, it could have been worse for me and others on the road.
The transmission console shift lever stays in Park. The console shift lever will not go into Reverse. Sunday morning my wife was on her way to church and found that the Dodge Charger RT transmission would not go into reverse. I tried it and she was right. My concern is if this happened while in traffic the vehicle could be rear ended or could cause a traffic night mare. My wife was in New Hampshire as the driver of our car with three other ladies just prior to this problem. . She was about sixty miles away and if the transmission locked up there with the four of them they would have been stranded. The plastic shift lock out located in the console is a plastic piece and should be replaced with a metal or aluminum piece by a Recall or at least a Technical Bulletin. EVERY TIME I FILL MY CAR UP WITH GAS AND DRIVE OFF FROM THE GAS STATION INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC THE CAR WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD I ALMOST GOT HIT IN THE SIDE JUST YESTERDAY. I GOT ONLINE AND DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS TANKS ON THESE CARS THAT CAUSE THEM TO STALL AFTER PUTTING GAS IN THEM.
PURCHASED VEHICLE AS IS ON 03/16/2021 AT DATE OF PURCHASE VEHICLE HAD ALMOST 200,000 MILES ON IT IT NEEDED FRONT END LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND BUSHINGS REPLACEMENT ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES THE AIR CONDITIONING DIDN'T WORK DUE TO THE AC COMPRESSOR BEING NO GOOD SO THE COMPRESSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WOULDN'T GO DOWN REGULATOR. HAD TO BE BROUGHT AND REPLACED AS WELL ALSO AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE IN WHICH VEHICLE WAS SOLD AS IS WITH A MALFUNCTIONING SEATBELT ISSUE IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT WAS FASTENED AND WILL NOT UNFASTEN THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT WORKS HOWEVER THE CARS SENSOR BEEPS AND FLASHES INDICATING THAT SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WITHOUT THEIR SEATBELT ON EVEN WITH THE SEATBELT BEING FASTENED WITHOUT AN ACTUAL BODY OR WEIGHT BEING IN THE SEAT AT ALL.... SINCE COMPRESSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED CAR HAS STARTED RUNNING HOT COOLANT AND WATER HAS TO CURRENTLY BE ADDED JUST FOR REGULAR DAILY USE
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IT WILL RANDOMLY TURN OFF AND THEN COME BACK ON WITH OUT HAVING TO RESTART IT. IT'S LIKE IF YOU WERE TO TURN A LIGHT SWITCH ON AND THEN OFF AGAIN, IT'S THAT QUICK. I'M TALKING ABOUT EVERYTHING SHUTS DOWN, THE LIGHTS THE RADIO THE GAUGES EVERYTHING AND THEN SOMETIMES IT COMES RIGHT BACK ON. THERE HAS BEEN SOME OCCASIONS WHERE IT DOESN'T COME BACK ON THO.
VEHICLE ORIGINAL KEYS WILL ENABLE/DISABLE ALARM, UNLOCK THE DOORS BUT WILL NOT START ENGINE DUE TO A MALFUNCTION IN THE (SKREEM) SENTRY KEY REMOTE ENTRY MODULE INTERNAL AND SKIM. WHEN THE WEATHER BECOMES COLD, THE SKIM MALFUNCTIONS WORST MAKING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. 2006 DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA R/T RANDOMLY STALLS WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GETS PRODUCED. IN THAT SPLIT SECOND THAT IT SHUTS OFF, THE CAR LOSES POWER COMPLETELY AND NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AND DODGE SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. MOST SOURCES POINT TO A FAULTY GAS TANK THAT HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY NOW BUT SHOULD BE RECALLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER CEASED IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND REMAINED AT THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. INVALID VIN.

CAR WILL RUN FINE ONE DAY NEXT DAY IT WON'T, CAR CUTS OFF WHEN STOPPING AN STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. CAR JERKS WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL TOO HARD, GAS ODORS COMING FROM MUFFLER.
TURNING ONTO ON-RAMP OF A HIGHWAY I WAS MOVING ABOUT 20 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE ENGINE DIED AND I LOST POWER STEERING. ADDITIONALLY, I FELT A VERY TOUGH TRANSMISSION SHIFT 2-3 SECONDS BEFORE I LOST POWER STEERING AND WHEN THE ENGINE DIED. THE CAR TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO TURN OVER. A VERY LOUD WHIRRING NOISE BEGAN IN THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION AREA AND IS YET TO STOP.

I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER THAT RANDOMLY DIES WHEN I'M DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN TOWN AT SLOW SPEEDS TURNING CORNERS OR SITTING STILL IN PARK IT'S DIED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES WHEN PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE SIDE OF ME AND IT HAPPENS NO MATTER WHAT GEAR ITS IN OR WHAT THE RPM IS AT I'VE REPLACE THE ECM THE TCM ALTERNATOR BATTERY AND EVERYTHING I'VE LOOKED UP ABOUT IT ONLINE NOBODY HAS A DEFINITE FIX BUT THE PROBLEM EXISTS IN A LOT OF 2006 DODGE CHARGERS, AND IT ALMOST ALWAYS GIVES ME ONE OF TWO CODES ONE IS LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE ECM AND THE OTHER IS LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE TCM AND THEN THERE'S OTHER TIMES THAT IT GIVES NO CODE
MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 2006 CHARGERS AND "SOME" 2006 MODELS ARE COVERED UNDER A RECALL "K39." IT SEEMS LIKE MY 2006 CHARGER IS ONE OF THE 2006 CHARGERS THAT ISN'T COVERED FOR SOME REASON. I CHECKED MY VIN ON YOUR WEBSITE AND THE RECALL DOESN'T SHOW. THIS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR LOSES POWER AND SLOWS DOWN, THE ENGINE IS RUNNING ROUGH AND WHEN PULLED OVER THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL. THE SHIFTER WILL MOVE THROUGH THE GEARS HOWEVER THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE(AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR RUNS NORMAL UNTIL THE NEXT EPISODE( OCCURRED THE LAST 3 TIMES CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN). THIS IS HAZARDOUS ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC. CURRENTLY SETTING UP APPOINTMENT WITH DODGE DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS PROBLEM HOWEVER NO CAUTION LIGHT IS APPEARING ON THE DASH. THIS MALFUNCTION HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED ON HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET.
THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF RANDOMLY, THE ERROR CODE KEEPS POINTING BACK TO THE ECM AND I HAVE HAD THAT REPLACED NOW IT IS DOING IT AGAIN AND THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY IT JOLTS LIKE IT WANTS TO SHUTOFF BUT IT DOESN'T THE RPM'S GO DOWN AND IT REVS BACK UP, IT STARTED JUST WITH IT HAVING THE RPM'S GO DOWN AND REV BACK UP RANDOMLY AND ITS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 2 YEARS NOW IT JUST SHUTS OFF AND STARTS BACK UP IMMEDIATELY BUT SOMETIMES ILL DRIVE A COUPLE FEET AND IT WILL DIE AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS. THEY HAVE SENT THE COMPUTER BACK TO HAVE IT ANALYSED AND TO REPAIR THE NEW ONE I GOT NOW. WHEN DRIVING IT ALSO SHUTS OFF AND THEN JUST STARTS UP BACK BY ITSELF. I SEE THIS EVERYWHERE ON THE INTERNET AND FORUMS, SOME SAY ECM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OTHER SAY THE FUEL TANK AND THE OTHER SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE KEY FOB NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEY. I WANT THIS INVESTIGATED AND A RECALL TO BE ISSUED. FROM EVERYONE I HAVE SPOKEN TO EVERY SINGLE 2006 DODGE CHARGER HAS THIS PROBLEM WITH THE 5.7 LT WITH THE HEMI.
CANNOT SHIFT VEHICLE OUT OF PARK.
" TAKATA RECALL" BOUGHT MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER LAST MARCH HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS THE ENGINE BLEW. REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A V6 2008 2.7 WITH ONLY 57000 . ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER STARTED TO GET THE LIGHTNING BOLT .THEN STALLING WITH THE LIGHTNING BOLT WHILE DRIVING 55MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND IN THE CITY IT ALSO DOES IT AT STOP SIGNS AND SOMETIMES WONT START BACK RIGHT AWAY.. I HAVE NO CODES NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NO WARNING. MY DASH LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHTS FLICKER ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING. WE TRIED EVERYTHING TO FIX THIS I'M VERY SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR ANYWHERES.. PLEASE HELP FIGURE OUT WHATS GOING ON WITH THESE PROBLEMS. WE ALREADY REPLACED THE COMPUTER, GAS PEDAL, SENSORS AND THE ENGINE. MILEAGE ON THE BODY 260000 ON THE SECOND ENGINE 63000.
MY CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 40MPH. I WENT TO THE MECHANICS AND IT SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER ISN'T FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. I LOOKED UP THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. I CONTACTED DODGE THEY SAID SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL THEN THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING.
TWO YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND IT LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. YESTERDAY WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH THE CAR LOST POWER. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY.
