Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA
Data refreshed
Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Intrepid. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the seat back fell backwards onto the rear driver's side seat. The contact grabbed the steering wheel and held himself up and safely stopped the vehicle. The contact braced the seat upright and drove the vehicle to his residence. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched and referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 03V035000 (Seats) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

CONSUMER STATES THAT AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK DOES NOT WORK. SHE HAD REPLACED THE ONE IN THE FRONT DOOR. THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AT 15 MPH, BUT WILL NOT RELEASE UNTIL SHE CUT THE VEHICLE OFF. BUT THE LOCK IN THE BACK WILL NOT RELEASE UNTIL ALL THE OTHER AUTOMATICALLY RELEASE, AND THEN HAS TO RELEASE IT MANUALLY. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE MECHANIC CAN REPAIR IT, BUT IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $250.00 PER DOOR. SHE FEELS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS AND THE PASSENGERS CANNOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. *AK

THIS IS MY SECOND INTREPID AND WAS TOO STUPID TO LEARN MY LESSON THE FIRST TIME. DODGE IS NOW A MEMORY, I AM SORRY BUT I AM BUYING JAPANESE. EVERYTIME I HAVE A PROBLEM THEY EITHER CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE OR IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY HOW COULD A HANDLE BREAK WHEN I TAKE CARE OF THE CAR SO WELL. UNBELIEVABLE! ANOTHER LOST PATRIOTIC AMERICAN CHANGING TO FOREIGN VEHICLES. I HOPE THEY GO BANKRUPT!*AK
