2013 Ducati Monster Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2013 DUCATI MONSTER 796 FROM THE DEALER MAY 24TH 2013 AND DROVE IT HOME IN THE BACK OF MY BROTHERS TRUCK. THE DEALERSHIP PUT IN . THE BIKE KEPT THE ORIGINAL 7 MILES ON THE ODOMETER THAT THE DEALER PUT ON. I NEVER TEST DROVE IT OR ANYTHING. I TOOK IT OUT FOR A DRIVE THE FIRST TIME AND WHEN I GOT BACK THE TANK COVER WAS WARPING DOWN THE CENTER. IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE AND PHOTOS WERE TAKEN AT THAT MOMENT. THE MILEAGE READ 60 MILES AND WAS ONLY TAKEN OUT ON LOCAL STREETS. I CALLED THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM. SENT THEM PHOTOS AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS TAKEN CARE OF AND THEY WILL LET ME KNOW FROM DUCATI WHAT WILL HAPPEN. I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THIS COULD LEAD TO THE POSSIBILITY OF LEAKING GAS SINCE IT IS ATTACHED TO THE GAS TANK. A MONTH GOES BY AND NOTHING. I CALL AGAIN. NOONE THERE KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ISSUE. NOT THE 3 PEOPLE I TALKED TO. SO I HAD TO SEND THEM THE INFO AGAIN ON JUNE 20TH 2013. THEY ONCE AGAIN SAY EVERYTHING IS ALL SET. JULY 6TH I CALL TO FIND THE STATUS AND FOR 4 DAYS I WAS NOT RETURNED CALLS OR PUT THROUGH TO ANYONE WHO COULD HELP OR TELL ME ANYTHING. I FINALLY GET AN EMAIL JULY 10TH NEEDING A PICTURE OF MY VIN NUMBER. I WAS TOLD FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS THAT EVERYTHING WAS ALL SET. I THEN CONTACT DUCATI AND THEY SAY IT WAS FORWARDED TO THE PROPER DEPT BUT AFTER 2.5 WEEKS HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING OR RECEIVED A NUMBER TO CALL. *TR

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
