The defect: Farber Specialty Vehicles (Farber Specialty) is recalling certain Farber vehicles equipped with certain S-Series and K-Series wheelchair platform lifts. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. The electrical contactor may fail, preventing the controls from stopping the lift.
The risk: A wheelchair lift that continues to move while occupied increases the risk of injury.
The remedy: Farber Specialty will work with Ricon to correct the wiring by installing two diodes, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 1, 2026. Owners may contact Farber customer service at 1-800-331-3188.

Safety recall

NHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
