The defect: Farber Specialty Vehicles (Farber) is recalling one 2021 Freightliner XC, 340HP vehicle. An additional resistor was incorrectly installed on the printed circuit board, which can disrupt CAN network communication and cause vehicle lighting to fail.
The risk: Inoperative vehicle lighting can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the units, free of charge. The one effected vehicle was remedied in July 2022. Owners may contact Farber's customer service at 1-800-331-3188.

Safety recall

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
