The defect: Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 FCCC XBS, XCL, XCS, XCR and XCM motorhome chassis manufactured from March 10, 2015, through January 14, 2016 and equipped with Detroit front axles. The front sway bar mounting brackets may not fit properly on the axle causing the mounting bolts to bend or loosen.
The risk: If the sway bar bolts loosen, the sway bar may detach from the axle, affecting the handling and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will modify the mounting of the sway bar, free of charge. The recall began on June 9, 2016. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-707.

The defect: Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 FCC XCS, XCM, XCR, XCL, XCP, XBS, XBR, and XBP trucks manufactured from January 7, 2013, through June 1, 2015. On certain motorhome chassis built with a heavier, adjustable, offset, foot pedal, the brake activation signal to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released.
The risk: If the brake activation signal to a towed device remains active when the motorhome chassis service brakes are released, the brakes on a towed device may remain engaged depending on brake configuration of the trailer. As a result, the brakes would drag and possibly overheat potentially resulting in a fire. Additionally, following drivers may be confused by the motorhome's actions, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will modify the affected brake assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on June 6, 2016. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's recall number for this campaign is FL-704.

POWER TRAIN

FCCC Service Bulletin for Axle Flange Gasket Replaced with O-Ring. Daimler Trucks North America has released a new axle shaft to hub rubber O-ring (part number 11-30728-000) as a replacement for the paper gasket (part number 11-14418-000). The new O-ring will provide better sealing and is reusable. It is quicker and easier to use compared to the paper gasket, because using a paper gasket requires cleaning the hub when the axle shaft is removed.

Revised Warranty Policy Letter for Alliance/Mascot Aftermarket Warranty and Claim Filing. Revisions are in blue. With Mascot now in partnership with Detroit Reman and Alliance Parts, DTNA is pleased to announce that Mascot coverage has been added to OWL. Remanufactured Alliance/Mascot parts include transmission, differential, steering gear, and steering pump used in an on-highway vehicle applications. The Alliance/Mascot aftermarket warranty coverage period has not changed: depending on the part, coverage is for one (1) or two (2) years and current parts, labor, and reimbursement policies apply.

Service Solution for False DEF Fault Codes on chassis with Cummins engines. Symptoms are various active and inactive fault codes for DEF Quality or DEF level. The issue could be caused by the coolant hoses swapped at the bulkhead fittings, thru the frame rail causing the coolant flow inside the header assembly to be reversed.
