The defect: Felling Trailers, Inc. (Felling Trailers) is recalling certain 2011-2022 Avtron D40548 trailers. The axle bracket may experience cracking and break, allowing the axle to detach from the trailer.
The risk: An axle assembly separation can result in a loss of trailer control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the axle bracket as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed in November 6, 2024. Owners may contact Felling Trailers customer service at 1-888-335-5464.

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
