1999 Fleetwood American Tradition Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

DT: A BLOWN GOODYEAR TIRE ON THE OWNER'S RV BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR INSIDE DUAL. SPEED WAS 60-65 MPH. THERE WERE ALREADY PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS TIRE FROM THIS OWNER. THE OWNER HAS ALREADY FILED A COMPLAINT ON THE OTHER TIRE THAT BLEW IN JUNE 2004. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE RV IS FLEETWOOD, ON AN SPARTAN CHASSIS. THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN A RECALL ON THE TIRES BEFORE. WHEN THE OWNER HAD THE FIRST RECALL HE HAD 8,000 MILES ON THE TIRES ,AND HAD ONLY OWNED THE RV FOR 2 MONTHS. THE OWNER WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND ALL 6 TIRES WERE CHANGED. THE OWNER HAD TO BEG FOR FLEETWOOD AND GOODYEAR TO HONOR THE WARRANTY AND GIVE HIM ALL 6 TIRES. THE OWNERS 2ND TIRE THAT BLEW ONLY HAS ABOUT 18,000 MILES ON IT. THERE WERE DAMAGES ON BOTH TIRES PROBLEMS FROM THE GOODYEAR TIRES. THE OWNER HAD TO HAVE A NEW TIRE REPLACED AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF FIXING THE DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR HOME. THE OWNER DOES NOT HAVE AN ESTIMATE ON THE DAMAGES FOR THE RV.*AK
