Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2006 Fleetwood Excursion, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

BOUGHT A 2006 FLEETWOOD EXCURSION NEW IN 2007 WITH IN 3 YEARS SEVERAL WINDOWS LOST THEIR SEAL. TOTAL OF 5 SO FAR INCLUDING WINDOW BY DRIVER'S SEAT,CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH VISION. I CONTACTED FLEETWOOD WHO SAID THEY HAD NO LIABILITY. I CONTACTED A GLASS COMPANY WHO SAID THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED . I HAVE OWNED CARS 40 TO 50 YEARS OLD WHICH DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM . IS THERE NOT A STANDARD FOR GLASS INSTALLED IN MOTORHOMES. THANKS FOR ANY HELP HERE REPLACEMENT WILL RUN 200 TO 300 EACH ,BUT I THINK THIS IS A FLEETWOOD DEFECT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FLEETWOOD EXCURSION. THE MOTOR HOME WAS JACKED UP AND LEVELED. WHEN THE CONTACT PRESSED THE BUTTON TO RETRACT THE JACKS, ALL BUT ONE RETRACTED BECAUSE IT WAS HUNG UP. HE CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AFTER TWO HOURS OF ATTEMPTING TO GET IT BACK IN AND HE EVEN USED HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TO ASSIST. HE IS CURRENTLY WAITING FOR ANOTHER JACK TO BE MADE FOR THE MOTOR HOME. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 40,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FLEETWOOD EXCURSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DUAL PANE WINDOW BECAME FOGGED AND IMPAIRED HIS VISION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
THE WINDOWS STARTED FOGGY UP IN MY RV AND HAVE STEADY GOTTEN WORSE, ESPECIALLY THE DRIVERS WINDOW. AT NIGHT IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF THE SIDE MIRROR DUE TO THE "FOGGING" OF THE WINDOW. FROM THE MANY COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ FROM OTHER RVERS, FLEETWOOD SEEMS TO HAVE USED INFERIOR WINDOWS WHEN THE RV WAS MANUFACTURED. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL ON THESE WINDOWS FROM FLEETWOOD FOR REPLACEMENT DUE TO THE INFERIOR PRODUCT. I HAVE GOTTEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE COSTS TO FIX THE WINDOWS THAT IS OVER $2000, NOT INCLUDING THE COSTS TO DRIVE THE RV TO THE REPAIR SHOP APPROXIMATELY 175 MILES FROM MY HOME AND TIME LOST FROM WORK SINCE MOST REPAIR SHOPS ARE ONLY OPEN M-F. I BELIEVE FLEETWOOD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THEIR PROBLEM DUE TO USE OF A PRODUCT THAT CREATES A POTENTIAL DANGER FOR VISIBILITY ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE HUGE INVESTMENT I HAVE PUT INTO THEIR PRODUCT. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO INCUR THE COSTS TO REPLACE WINDOWS THAT ARE FAULTY. *TR

WHY DOESN'T FLEETWOOD SAFETY RECALL # 06004 SHOW UP IN THE NHTSA DATABSE. ISN'T IT THE SAME KWIKEE STEP & SIMILAR WIRING PROBLEM AS FLEETWOOD'S RECALL # 60220 FOR SIMILAR VEHICLES. WHILE THIS RECALL IS CALLED AN UPGRADE NOTING THAT "THE WIRE IS NOT INTENDED TO CARRY THIS AMOUNT OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY & MAY BURN THROUGH AND MELT" , #60220 REGARDS THIS AS A SAFETY HAZARD.
