2013 Fleetwood Excursion Problems
Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2013 Fleetwood Excursion, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.
Reports by component
Ranked by how many owner reports name each component category
- Body & structure125.0%
- Interior & seats125.0%
- Other / unspecified125.0%
- Seat belts125.0%
Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.

EXAMINATION OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE SOFA/COUCH OF THE MOTORHOME REVEALED THAT THE SECURING BOLTS HAVE NEVER BEEN INSTALLED. THE SOFA IS A SEATBELT ZONE, AND WITHOUT PROPER MOUNTING TO THE DECK OF THE RV, THE COUCH IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO OCCUPANTS WHO SIT IN THE SOFA. THE RIG IS RATED FOR 5 SEATBELTED PASSENGERS (DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND THREE ON COUCH). THIS WAS REPORTED TO DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY REFUSED TO RECTIFY. FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY OWNER INDICATES THAT VEHICLE LIKELY LEFT THE FACTORY IN THIS CONDITION AS IT DOES NOT APPEAR THAT HOLES WERE EVER IN ALIGNMENT TO SECURE THE SOFA TO THE DECK. I'VE ADVISED FLEETWOOD AND THE AUTHORIZED FLEETWOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT LA MESA RV CENTER (DAVIS, CA) AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO RECTIFY. *TR

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
