The main entry door lock assembly failed mechanically, physically trapping occupants inside the living coach with no mechanical release and forcing an emergency window escape. This same door mechanism unlatched and swung completely open while transit on public highways, creating an extreme crash/ejection hazard. Additionally, the total electrical failure to the LP propane detector left occupants with zero protection or warning against toxic or explosive gas leaks.
