1998 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1998 Fleetwood Pace Arrow, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE AUTO PARK BRAKE FAILED TO HOLD THE MOTOR HOME WHILE PARKED. THE DEALER INVESTIGATED AND FOUND OUT THAT THE BRAKE SHOES WERE WORN OUT AND THE BRAKE CABLE WAS BURNED AND BROKEN, THE CABLE WAS IMPROPERLY LOCATED AS IT WAS TOUCHING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. *YH

I RECEIVED FROM THE CHEVROLET MOTOR DIVISION A LETTER STATING THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED REPORTS OF CRASHES THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE OF THE AUTO-APPLY PARKING BRAKE. THE AUTO-PARK BRAKE HAS A TENDENCY TO APPLY ITSELF AS THE VEHICLE IS CRUSING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS OCCURED ON MY MOTOR HOME AND ALSO ON TWO OTHER RV OWNER'S OF CHEVROLET CHASSIS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH. I AM SURE THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS WHO HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS AUTO- PARKING BRAKE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THEY SHOULD OFFER A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT.
