What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2001 Fleetwood Southwind, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Reports naming windshields, glass, wipers, defrosters and mirrors.
From owner reports, verbatim
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE OWNER NOTICED THAT THE UPPER RIGHT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT WINDSHIELD CRACKED IN THE SAME LOCATION. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ROCKS OR OTHER OBJECTS HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THERE IS A STRUCTURAL PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN OF THE BODY OF THE RV. *JB
WINDSHIELD ON BOTH SIDES, DRIVER AND PASSENGERS, HAS COME APART FROM SEAL. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND HAD REPAIRES DONE. WINDSHIELD CONTINUES TO DO THE SAME THING, IT IS STARTING TO COME APART AT SEAL AGAIN. *AK CONSUMER STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WAS TOO SMALL AND THE GLASS SHOP WOULD NOT RESET IT BECAUSE IT CANNOT FIX CORRECTLY WITHOUT FIBER GLASS REPAIR. THIS WAS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *YH

WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (05S28) FOR OUR MOTORHOME'S SPEED CONTROL IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2007. WE'VE BEEN CALLING THE DEALERSHIP SUNRISE FORD (888) 865-4990 SINCE THEN AND AGAIN JANUARY 24, 2008 AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART FOR THE MOTORHOME TO FIX IT. THEY ARE NOW ESTIMATING APRIL 2008. WHY HASN'T THE MANUFACTURER SENT THE PARTS TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX OUR PROBLEM AND WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG? *TR
