What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1998 Fleetwood Terry, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I HAVE A STRUCTURAL DEFECT IN THE KING PIN AREA OF MY FLEETWOOD TERRY TRAVEL TRAILER.I TOOK MY TRAIRLER TO AN AUTHRIZED REPAIR SHOP FOR FLEETWOOD AS I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DO BY FLEETWOOD REPRESINATIVE. THE FLEETWOOD REPAIR CENTER (PAW PAW'S CAMPER IN JACKSON MS) SENT THE FOLLOWING LETTER THEY REPLY TO ME STATED: MR BARLOW UPON INSPECTION OF THIS UNIT WE HAVE FOUND LACK OF STRUCTURAL NTEGRITY AT THE REAR OF THE PIN BOX MAIN FRAME,WHICH HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE COMPLETEFRAME WORK OF THE 5TH WHEEL AREA AND ALSO CAUSED STRESS DAMAGE TO THE SIDE WALLS. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF WEATHER DAMAGE OR LACK OF MAINTANCE. OUR OPINION IS THAT THIS UNIT NEEDS TO BE SENT BACK TO THE MFG FOR EXTENSIVE REPAIRS AND SAFETY CONCERNS.THE REPAIR CENTER TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT TOUCH THIS UNIT, THAT THE MFG SHOULD LOOK AND REPAIR THE UNIT. I REPORTED THIS INFORMATION TO FLEETWOOD MFG AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT COME LOOK AT IT AND WOULD NOT GIVE ANY ASSISTANCE IN THE REPAIR OF THE UNIT. IF MY TRAILER HAS A MFG DEFECT IN THE STRUCTURE OF THE TRAILER THAT IT SUPPORTS THE TOWING THIS VEHICLE THEN I AM SURE THERE ARE OTHER UNITS THAT COULD HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT THE RESPONSE I HAVE RECIEVED FROM FLEETWOOD TRAVEL TRAILER DIVISION SHOW A GREAT LACK OF CONCERN. THANK YOU BILLY BARLOW. *AK
