What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2001 Ford E-Series, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE TV MOUNTED IN THE RAISED "SKY TOP" OF OUR ELK CONVERSION VAN, BROKE LOOSE AND FELL OUT OF ITS MOUNT . MY WIFE YELLED AS SHE SAW THE TV FALLING, AND I REACHED BACK OVER MY RIGHT SHOULDER TO CATCH THE TV BEFORE IT FELL TO THE FLOOR AND EXPLODED INTO THE PASSENGER AREA WITH MY WIFE AND CHILD. I FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE HWY. WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT, SUSTAINING A SPRAINED SHOULDER AND SORE ELBOW. OTHER SKY TOPS ARE ALSO FAILING AT A HIGH RATE. THERE IS A NEW MOUNTING SYSTEM (FIX) BUT IT IS ONLY COVERED WITHIN THE FIRST 36,000 MI. TIME WILL CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS WITH THE OLDER PLASTIC TV MOUNTS.*AK
