1995 Ford E350 Tires & wheels Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the tire or wheel system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Tires & wheels reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD MASSIVE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE. MOVED CAR TO SIDE OF ROAD AND CHANGED OUT TIRE. PRIOR TO FAILURE NOTICED THUMPING NOISE FROM REAR OF VEHICLE THAT SHOOK VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO ROAD HAZARDS STRUCK TO CAUSE THIS INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT, INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE. I SUSPECTED SOMETHING WAS WRONG PRIOR TO THE FAILURE WHEN THE THUMPING NOISE BECAME NOTICABLE, HOWEVER I THOUGHT THE TIRES MIGHT NEED BALANCING. NOW THERE ARE MORE THUMPING NOISES SO I AM GOING TO HAVE TO CHANGEOUT THE THE REMAINING THREE TIRES. I TRIED TO CONTACT FIRESTONE BUT THE WAIT TIME TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE WAS TOO LONG. I STILL HAVE THE TIRE AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO BRING IT IN FOR YOUR ANALYSIS SINCE I AM IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA.*AK (DOT NUMBER: V6TTBTA TIRESIZE: 245/75R16)
