2011 Ford F-53 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2011 Ford F-53, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

VIOLATIONS OF RECALL LAWS! 49USC30120, 49USC30112, AND 30118. NORTH TRAIL RV IN FORT LAUDERDALE FLORIDA SOLD ME A "NEW" 2011 FLEETWOOD BOUNDER CLASSIC 30T WITH OPEN RECALLS, DATE OF PURCHASE 10/11/2013. ACCORDING TO FORD, THEY NOTIFIED FLEETWOOD OF THE RECALL 12S27, NHTSA 12V035000 IN FEB 2012, FLEETWOOD IGNORED THE "STOP SALE ORDER" AND ALL LETTERS FROM FORD, TO REMEDY THE RECALL. IN APRIL 2015 FOR AGAIN SENT A REMINDER LETTER TO COMPLY TO FLEETWOOD AND AT THIS TIME WE HAD ALREADY PURCHASED THE MOTORHOME, FLEETWOOD AGAIN DISCARDED THE REMAINDER TO COMPLY LETTER FROM FORD AS THEY NEVER FORWARDED THE LETTER TO US. NOW, WE HAVE A MOTORHOME WITH (3) OPEN RECALLS DATING BACK TO 2011 & 2012, CLEARLY BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE UNIT IN VIOLATION OF 49USC30120(I)1, WE JUST LEARNED OF ALL THE RECALLS VIOLATIONS WITH THIS UNIT TROUBLESHOOTING AN ELECTRICAL FIRE THAT WAS AS A RESULT OF RECALL #110728FRV, 11V399000. THE MANUFACTURER, FLEETWOOD NEVER NOTIFIED THE DEALER THAT HAD THE RV IN THEIR LOT OF ALL 3 RECALLS. THAT FIRE COULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY AND OTHER AROUND US AS THIS MOTORHOME CARRIES 80 GALLONS OF GASOLINE AND 20 GALLONS OF LP GAS. CLEARLY FLEETWOOD SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE HUNDREDS OF UNSAFE RVS ON THE ROAD PUTTING FAMILIES AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD IN GREAT DANGER, DUE TO THEIR CONDUCT. WE WERE SOLD A TICKING BOMB AS THIS RV HAS 2 OPEN FIRE HAZARDS RECALLS 110520FRV NHTSA 11V298000, AND 110728FRV NHTSA 11V399000 AND 1 MECHANICAL/CRASH HAZARD RECALL 12S27 NHTSA12V035000. WHEN I CALLED FLEETWOOD AND NORTH TRAIL RV TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE OPEN RECALLS, THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RECORDS OF THE REPAIRS OF ALL 3 RECALLS. THIS IS BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR THESE GUYS! RVS ARE MORE THAN JUST A MODE OF TRANSPORTATION, PEOPLE LIVE IN THESE UNITS INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS BODILY INJURIES AND/OR DEATH AS A RESULT OF THE 3 OPEN RECALLS.
