What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1999 Ford F Series (light), grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

FORD RECALL 11S21 GAS TANK STRAP RECALL PERFORMED AT LUCAS FORD IN BURLINTON NJ. THEY SAID THE STRAP PULLED THROUGH ROTTED FRAME AND FORD SAID BECAUSE THE RECALL ONLY SAYS THEY HAVE TO REPLACE RUSTED STRAPS THEY WILL NOT REPAIR. THEY TOLD THEM TO PUT NEW STRAPS ON LEAVING REAR ONE NOT CONNECTED. IF THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL THIS IS A FAIL AS MY TRUCK COULD STILL HAVE THE TANK DROP AND BURST INTO FLAMES. THIS IS THE SAME AS TOYOTA RECALL FOR POORLY TREATED FRAMES JUST FORD WAS ALLOWED TO ONLY REPLACE 20 DOLLARS STRAPS THAT PROBABLY AREN'T EVEN THE PROBLEM. *TR
