2026 Ford Maverick Hybrid Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

8/3/26 at 0003 I received a message from the ford app that remote features were disabled to preserve battery. My truck would not turn on when I tried to start it, it was completely dead so then I got it jumped. At 1302 I received an error message for powertrain malfunction/ reduced power there was also a warning lamp for service on the dash. I brought the truck in today for service and waiting to hear back. The truck has roughly 3500 miles and I bought it new in april 2026, I drive daily and drove it the night before and did not have any issues. I did some research online and saw information for class action law suits for previous years on the maverick as well as people with similar issues. Inspection upon request would be available. My safety could have been put at risk if the battery died on the roadway causing a safety issue to myself or other motorists.

Brakes
Filed Jul 7, 2026

I was in stop and go traffic on the highway when my brakes failed. I tried them twice, the car did not slow down, I put the car into park and tried to engage the parking brake and the car continued to roll until I hit the 18 wheeler in front of me. This happened a second time before I could get myself off the freeway and to a safe place to call a tow truck.

Windshield cracks easily. It cracked in a way that might impair vision. I have had large rocks hit my windshields in the past and and it usually ends up as just a round spot. I just bought this truck and a small Rock hit the lower driver side and it immediately cracked across my field of view about a foot across. This windshield is too thin or not properly laminated.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
