2000 Ford Ranger EV Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 6 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2000 Ford Ranger EV. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

UNABLE TO PASS VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION DUE TO CRACKED FRAME BY MEANS OF RUST DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT FRONT SECTION OF THE T-FRAME. THE TRUCK WAS BOUGHT IN 2003 AND HAD A CLEAN CAR FAX REPORT BUT WHEN INSPECTED I WAS INFORMED BY THE INSPECTOR THAT THE RANGER FRAME HAD BEEN WELDED ON PRIOR DUE TO RUST DAMAGE. IN 2005 I HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR SHACKLES AND LEAF SPRINGS DUE TO THE SAME RUST DAMAGE. I FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE DUE TO IMPROPER MATERIALS USED IN IT'S CONSTRUCTION CAUSING A HIGH PROBABILITY OF FAILURE AND RISK OF INJURY AND OR DEATH TO MYSELF OR OTHERS AND THAT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY MUST CORRECT OR REFUND AND THAT THE DEALER SHOULD ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT INFORMING ME OF THIS DEFECT. *TR
