Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1999 Ford Super Duty F Series, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I HAVE THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WHICH MEANS MY F250 STARTS TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY (AS IF DRIVING ON A WASHBOARD DIRT ROAD) AFTER I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. COULD BE A MANHOLE COVER, A POT HOLE OR THE SEEMS ON THE FREEWAY. ESPECIALLY IF I HIT THE BUMP WITH ONE TIRE AND IF I AM ON A CURVE. IT SHAKES UNTIL THE TRUCK COMES TO A STOP. STARTED INFREQUENTLY NOW HAPPENS OFTEN AND PREDICTABLY (I HAVE VIDEO). TIRES HELPED FOR A WHILE, NEW SHOCKS DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. LOTS OF POSTS COMPLAINTS ONLINE. DON'T KNOW SOLUTION BUT SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
