What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2009 Ford Super Duty, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I AM EXPERIENCING A FAILURE IN THE FACTORY WHEELS ON MY 2009 FORD F250. THE CRACKS ARE VERY LARGE, LIKE A SEPARATION IN THE ALLOY, THEY ARE NOT FROM THE EDGES AS MOST CRACKS ARE, AND MEASURE APPROXIMATELY 4-5 INCHES. THIS IS MY THIRD FAILURE IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR. ALL ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL, ALL HAVE HAPPENED ON THE FRONT, AND HAVE HAD NO SIGNS OF IMPACT. IT IS MY STRONG OPINION THAT THIS PARTICULAR WHEEL HAS NOT BEEN ENGINEERED CORRECTLY FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE FRONT END. THIS HAS PUT ME IN A HUGE SAFETY RISK AND I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER. PLEASE ALLOW ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEND SOME PICTURES. THE FIRST RIM I RETURNED FOR THE CORE CREDIT. I HAVE THE SECOND RIM IN MY POSSESSION, AND IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP WITH THE 3RD CRACK. *TR
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
