BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; VISIBILITY
Per Daimler Trucks North America Campaign "22V281 & 22V232": The function of the rearview camera might be impaired where the rearview image might not be displayed in the central display after reversing. Instead, the central display would continue to display the existing image or display a black screen with a message indicating the inoperability of the rearview camera system. In addition, the rearview camera image neither freezes nor deactivates. As the vehicle begins to back up, a rearview camera image under these conditions might impair rear visibility, which could increase the risk of a crash. When the issue occurs, the driver might notice that the central display would either continue to display the existing image or display a black screen with a message indicating the inoperability of the rearview camera. Unfortunately, the parts to remedy this are not yet available. We are working to obtain the necessary parts to correct this condition as quickly as possible. As parts become available, we will send you another letter asking you to take your vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the recall completed free of charge.
EQUIPMENT
Mercedes-Benz AG (MBAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner vans, has determined that the software of the MBUX multimedia system might not meet specifications. Under very specific conditions, the MBUX multimedia system might not start and the display might remain black, or could reboot unintentionally after 50 seconds of initial startup. Accordingly, the rearview camera image might not be displayed or the display might be interrupted which could increase a risk of a crash or injury.
SERVICE BRAKES
The retaining washer and bolt that connect the brake pedal to the bearing block may come loose and detach. This could cause the brake lights to stay illuminated, even when the brake pedal is not pressed.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Mercedes-Benz AG ("MBAG"), the manufacturer of Sprinter vans, has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Model Year 2019 - 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles. MBAG has determined that on certain Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles, the software design of the communication module may fail to communicate the correct vehicle's location for the emergency call system ("eCall") in the event of a crash. Depending on the crash scenario, a temporary drop in the on-board electrical voltage system may occur.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
An intermittent connection may occur between the connector block of the electronic control unit (âECUâ) and the connector pins for the Supplemental Restraint System (âSRSâ) wiring harness. The SRS may detect resistance, which could lead to warning lights illuminating on the instrument cluster.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
